Welcome AHAF Members,

This is going to be an exciting year for AHAF. We are in a time of change and rebuilding, focusing on building a stronger, more active club. We are committed to growing our membership and revitalizing the AHAF Thanksgiving show. Our District Directors will be reaching out to Arabian horse owners in their areas. Please contact your Director with your ideas and concerns. We want your input.

I want to thank the previous AHAF Board and Chairmen for all their hard work. We have many changes, some new faces , some returning faces. Our new Membership Chairman is Lyric Hersh. She is also our new AHAF Secretary. You will find her number listed in the Board section of our website. LaRue Allen has agreed to head the Publicity Committee. Eric Wolfe is the new Show Committee Chairman. If you are interested in being on one of their committees, contact them. We will also be hiring a new Show Manager for the Thanksgiving show. You will find email addresses in the Contact Us section of the website.

Financially AHAF is in a stable position. We have 3 accounts, the Operating account with a balance of $49k, the Show account with a balance of $11k and the Futurity account with a balance of $15k. AHAF's only source of income is the Thanksgiving show. For the past 2 years the Thanksgiving show has lost money . Last year the loss was approximately $15,000. This was due in part to low attendance , the economy, and high overhead. We working to change this situation. All your suggestions, ideas and help in make it happen.

Many of you are on Facebook and now AHAF has a page! It's a place where AHAFs members can share their show photos , horse photos and such as a club! So "like" AHAF and keep in touch!

There is lots of work ahead of us, but this can be a truly exciting year for us all.
